i will be able to play games better now yay

have had this idea for a 'dream game' for a long time where the player can build their own special ability based on conditional effects, and based on the difficulty of achieving the conditional, the effect would be stronger. i just built a small scale version of it and it's almost not fun at all. the fact that anyone can do any effect sucks ass because you can activate someone's effect for no reason and if there's more than one other person you basically have no way of knowing what you're doing wrong. so i have to either figure out a way for it to be fun or pivot to something else. sucks! but games are supposed to be fun and not this chore. if it was a PvE game it might be fun? but i don't really like the idea of it.

i enjoyed it very much. older movies meander a lot and it feels more like an adventure than new ones even if they technically go nowhere (the train is stopped for like an hour movie time!) but i guess its also a whole different 'world'. the movie was portraying 1935 sooo. anyways the detective was okay. i think his mannerisms are supposed to be inherently funny but i dont really find them that subversive. aside from his particular bluntness at points and some banter. the twist is fun and i enjoy how the detective behaves about it.

eventually contams take over and the whole thing becomes unusable. it does grow fast though so for short term things maybe it's chill. hurricane milton is almost here and the power might go out any second
